Praying Psalm 145

V 1-2 Take a few moments to “BE STILL” and acknowledge that God is “YOUR KING”.

  • Praise Him, for He is no ordinary king, He is sovereign over all creation and His love and His power has NO limits and we can FULLY trust him now and we will enjoy him and worship him daily for all eternity.

V3-7 “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise, his greatness no-one can fathom. One generation will commend your works to another.”

  • Pray that God will increase our knowledge and appreciation of His great love for us and that our lives and words will pass on that love to the next generation of children and young people growing up in an increasingly godless world.
  • Continue to pray for all families as they continue to face isolation from others and pray that God will sustain families who are under additional strain at this time for a variety of reasons!

V8 “The LORD is gracious and compassionate slow to anger and rich in love.”

  • Take a moment to acknowledge your sin, maybe you are quick to anger and lacking in love, ask for forgiveness and for the Holy Spirit to enable you to be full of the Spirit Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.

V13 “The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving towards all that he has made.”

  • Do you have a particular worry or concern at the minute? Think of a promise that God gives from His word that relates to your concern and trust God to be faithful to that promise to continue to love you and sustain you through the challenges you face!
  • Pray for those who are uncertain about their future finance, particularly remember those who have lost jobs, and whose businesses are under intense pressure, pray for our famers who are coming under increasing pressure to know the Lord’s help and strength amidst the uncertainty

V18-20 “The LORD is near to all who call on him all who call on him in truth……v20 “The LORD watches all who love him, but all the wicked will be destroyed.”

  • Pray that amidst fear and uncertainty that more and more people will call on the Lord in truth and find forgiveness and eternal life in Jesus!
  • Think about how you can play your part in sharing the good news with the wicked whom verse 20 reminds us our heading towards eternal destruction.
